Re: Vista x64 Live TV stutter

Hello,

I have no problem to start my Vista with 4GB of RAM. After that in the
control panel I show also the 4GB! But my LiveTV doesn't work --> green
screens.
I must disable the "memory remapping feature" or remove 2 of my 4GB RAM to
bring my livetv to work.
I check an other thing: I disable the Tuner 2 (IRQ18) in the control panel.
So that only the nvidia card uses the IRQ18! But the Tuner 1 doesn't work -->
green screens.
I think Nvidia or Hauppauge has a problem with the 4GB RAM.
But why I can play (with 4GB RAM) videos recorded with 2GB RAM without green
screens? Very strange!
I hope, hauppauge has any Idea for this bug. see this thread:

Also make sure your BIOS is up to date.

It is the sharing of your NVIDIA card with one of your tuners that is
causing the problem since they are both hgh bandwidth devices and cannot
easily accept a delay in a trasfer without causing dropped frames and/or
stuttering.
Regretfully other then changing slots I don't know of the various ways to
change IRQs. If your MOBO is fairly new it should have 24 IRQs available
via a BIOS setting.

Tuner 1: IRQ 17
Tuner 2: IRQ 18
NVidia Card: IRQ 18
I have no Idea how do I change the IRQ's. Other PCI-Slots have no effekts
of
that.
In all slots the Tuners share a IRQ with an other device!
But in my manual of the A8N-SLI can I read: slot 2 is not shared with any
other device. It's a Vista twister of my IRQ's.
But with IRQ 17 and 18 and 2,8GB RAM the PVR500 works perfectly! Only if I
enable all 4GB of RAM I can see green screens in my livetv window!!!

Are you sure that you PVR500 card is not sharing its IRQ with any other
card/device?

Hello,

I have the same problems with my VMC!
I also have a ASUS A8N32-SLI Board, with an Athlon X2 4400 64 and a
PVR500.
Many peoples have the same problem! Show this thread:
http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/board/showthread.php?t=11051
In My Opinion, I think that is a bug in the drivers. Maybe the graphics
driver?
What for video chip you are using for? Thats my: NVidia GeForce 7600GT.
I discovered that the problem appears only with nvidia cards!
But the newest driver doesn't fix my problem!

Any help?!?!?
