With both the wireless adapter and the router in the system, it's not
particularly easy to tell which one of them is dropping traffic. Another
thing you can try if you haven't done so already is upgrade the firmware in
your router to the latest version available from Belkin's website.

i cannot get another router unless i buy one, and the adapter is built into
the notebook. is there a test i could run that would come up with a code
or
something?

Would it be possible to borrow a different make/model wireless router (or
wireless network adapter) from a friend? By eliminating one of your two
wireless components, you'll be able to determine whether this issue is
due
to your router or your wireless adapter.

the update had no effect, and the xbox is wired to the router directly.
mce
only works on the xbox, if the pc is wired directly to the router.

Try updating to the latest released driver for your wireless card

Also,
is your Xbox 360 plugged directly into your wireless router, or does
it
connect through another switch/router?

okay, i have no problems when i am on the LAN. when i switch the
pc
over
to
a wireless connection the two devices stop communicating
(xbox/mcepc).
i
have called tech support for xbox, and belkin and they both pass
the
buck
because i can still go online with both devices. belkin says it
is
an
OS
problem. i have changed some of my router settings, re-installed
extender
software and turned off my firewall, and anti-virus software...
what
am
i
missing? when i first connected the xbox and pc on the network,
there
were
no problems with this config. help.
