So I tried the patch again, and got this message: KB931836 Setup Error
Update cannot be installed as a newer or same timezone update has already
been installed on the system
Which means it is installed on my computer, yet this patch does not help my
problem at all. I had to uncheck the option to synchronize with
time.windows.com because that would repeatedly change my time incorrectly, I
also had to uncheck the option to "Automatically adjust clock for daylight
savings time changes" and then set my time manually for it to be the correct
time and stay that way. I repeatedly tried switching to 5 different time
zones and then back to my own again, and everytime I came back to my own, it
would still tell me it is an hour later than it is. The guide has no progress
in being fixed either.
I'm starting to think my only option is to wait until the old daylight
savings day comes along to fix this, or to pretend I am in Central Canada and
use that time zone for now. I'll give that a try, restart my computer and see
if it sticks well and if the Guide gets fixed.

it anymore. I don't have windows update set for automatic updates, I have to
do it myself. When I got back from a trip, the time change problem became a
problem, so I manually fixed my time, but it kept changing itself back to the
wrong time. I found out there was a patch released, so I used Windows Update
and downloaded all the recommended stuff. That didn't help, my time kept
being changed to the wrong time, I later realized it was because it was set
to sync with "time.windows.com" every night, so I turned that off, and
changed my time manually to the correct time again. Then realizing that my
guide was an hour off, as I described earlier, I tried doing windows update
again, and looked through what was still available after downlaoding the
recommended update. So I wasn't sure about whether or not it had been
installed, but earlier in this topic someone (it may have been you) posted
where to download the specific patch, so I tried that, and tried installing,
but it didn't work, assumingly because it has already been installed, so I
really don't know what the problem is anymore. I'm going to go try finding
the specific patch again and try downloading and installing it again, and see
what happens.

Try this (at this point, I assume you have the daylight savings update
installed)
Close Media Center
Change your timezone to something else (Pacific for example) and accept
Change it back to Eastern Time and MAKE SURE the adjust for daylight savings
is selected and accept
Open Media Center
Setup your EPG again.
I've seen cases with some computers where the right settings are selected,
but the settings didn't take. This should ensure that your system is infact
set correctly.

I have tried this technique with high hopes, yet the guide is still off by

hour. So shows like the 11'o clock news are listed in the guide as being

all of my series are set to record, and they do record, but an hour

I've tried both techniques listed for this problem, the clearing all
channels thing, and then re-adding them, and the changing zip code and
changing back technique. Could it possibly be a problem with my Cable
Provider (Rogers in Toronto)??

OK, I found another trick without deleting anything.
Settings > TV>Guide > Set Up Guide Listings
Select a zip code outside of your timezone (If on the Eastcoast, select
90210(example) for a PST location; if on the Westcoast, 10965 (example).)
Select a cable provider in that teritory and do the full update of the
guide
(Mountain & Central, select the coast farthest away from you since you
usually sync with either NY or LA timezones). Once completed, repeate
the
steps and select your normal zip code and download your local guide.
This
will get everything back into sync (for now). NOTE: If you try to
update
the guide without selecting a location outside of your timezone, this
will
not work. The system must sync once to a new timezone for it to work.
Total time should take 5 min tops.
