Network Card details as follows:
Intel® 82566DC Gigabit Platform LAN Connect
Driver = Ver 9.6.8.0 built by WinDDK
Date 21/06/2006
Xbox connection to PC is Wired
Home network topology:-
Router: - is a SAFECOM SWAMR-54108 802.11b/g Wireless LAN ADSL Internet
Gateway, the software Version is T360A.050205a1_04
(NB: Windows see this as a Texas Instruments DSL router model TI NSP)
Also on network wired through the router is a Buffalo LinkStation network
drive.
I would point out that I have tried setting up the Xbox as an Extender wired
directly into the PC network card (i.e. with the Router disconnected and the
Xbox & PC being the only devices making up the network). All worked ok except
Live and recorded TV with the usual Video Error.
I have also downloaded and installed the latest PVR150 TV card drivers from
Hauppauge and Video Card Drivers from Dell. But this has made no difference
and the problem persists.

Yes - the PVR150 is compatible with Windows Vista. Any TV content recorded.
in Media Center should play fine on Xbox 360. Can you provide additional
information regarding your PC's configuration. Specifically:
- What is the make/model and driver version of the network card in your PC?
- How does your Xbox 360 connect back to your PC? (wired/wireless?) Please
provide information regarding the topology of your home network and
make/model/firmware version for your home router

- Yes, as far as I know this is a clean install of Windows Vista not an
upgrade. The PC that it is on is new about 4 weeks ago from Dell.
- No, I have not installed any language packs.
- No, I have not been able to get live or recorded TV to play through the
Xbox extender at any time.
- Yes, performance monitor seems to be working ok.
Additional information: - The PC's TV card is a Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-150 as
installed by Dell. Can you confirm if this card is compatible with
Vista/Xbox
360 Extender?

Few questions:
- Is this a clean install of Windows Vista, an upgrade on top of Windows
XP,
or an upgrade on top of a Windows Vista beta/RC?
- Have you installed any Windows language packs?
- Has this ever worked?
- Does Performance Monitor work? To verify this, following the below
steps:
.. 1) Open the Start menu; in the search window at the bottom of the
menu, type "perfmon" (without the quotes)
.. 2) Right click the perfmon application that appears in the top
left of
the menu; select "Run as Administrator"
.. 3) Enter your credentials to run as administrator (if needed)
.. 4) Click Performance Monitor in the left pane of the window that
appears
.. 5) You should now see a moving line/graph in the right pane, with
the
line representing "% Processor Time" per the legend at the bottom of the
window; do you see this?

Correction:
Note 2 should say I am able to play WMV content on the Xbox 360 from
within
media center.

In answer to your questions:
1. Yes, TV playback does work directly on the PC and only produces
"Video
Error" when played on the Xbox.
2. Yes, I am unable to play WMV content on the Xbox 360 from within
media
centre (i.e. the sample video that comes with Vista). However, I am
not
able
to play avi content that I have recorded myself.
3. The Logitech error does not always occur so I'm not sure if it is
related
to the Xbox video error. Since posting my original question I have
uninstalled my Logitech Webcam and then reinstalled it and I haaven't
seen
the Logitech error since.
In summary, I can not playback live, recorded TV or .avi video clips
on
the
Xbox. All attempts result in the Video Error: - Files needed to
display
video
are not installed or not working correctly. Please restart Windows
Media
Center or restart the computer.

How closely does the timestamp for the Logitech error message
correspond to
receiving Video Error? (and is it 100% that you see these errors
together?)

Can anybody help?. I have setup my Xbox as a Media Center
Extender.
The
Media
Center PC is running Windows Vista. I have successfully been able
to
play
Music, display Photographs and run slideshows through the Xbox
Extender.
However, I am unable to get live or recorded TV or Video to play
through
the
Xbox. The following message is displayed:
Video Error - Files needed to display video are not installed or
not
working
correctly. Please restart Windows Media Center or restart the
computer.
I have tried restarting both Windows Media Centre and the computer
but
have
had no success.
I'm not sure if this is a connected issue but I get the following
error
message on the PC when I attempt to run live or recorded TV
through
the
Media
Centre Extender : Logitech LVPrcSrv Module. Stopped working and
was
closed.
