Re: Capture Screen Shots in Windows Using the Print Screen Key

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Thanks, but it can't be the reason that the keybord is not functioning, cause
after using the "On-Screen Keyboard" (%SystemRoot%\system32\osk.exe; which
_can't_ be defective), pasting into Paint didn't work too.

Perhaps that key on your keyboard is not functioning. Find another one

I looked in Help for "Disable print screen", in case there's somtehing
that accidentally happened, but no joy.

Searching for "Enable print screen" brought up only one article that I
though *might* be relevant. It's number 894513.

On 3/15/2007, Rainer posted this:
I just used the Print Screen key when normal windows (Word, Notepad, a
folder) were displayed on the screen and then tried to paste the clipboard
contents into Paint, but that wasn't possible - in the Edit menu "Paste" was
shown grey, not black. Ctrl+C also didn't work.

What were you trying to paste it into before that didn't work?

Thanks for you help,

I tried it with WordPad and... it worked!!!

Afterwards it also worked with Paint.

Does that mean, always, when I want to use this function I have to paste
into WordPad before?

Can you explain that behaviour?

Very strange...

What happens if you try to paste in Wordpad by using the Print Screen?

Start>Run>%windir%\system32\clipbrd.exe>ok

Can you find the Print Screen contents in the ClipBoard?

I know there exist many such tools, but that doesn't answer my

Hello,
Capture Screen Shots in Windows Using the Print Screen Key
doesn't work on one of our two notebooks (both SONY Vaios)!
What could be the reason?
The keyboard should be alright, cause using osk.exe doesn't work too.
Could this function be disabled somewhere?
Thanks for any help!
Regards, Rainer
