Re: Dual DVB-T Tuner Problems with MCE 2005

MCE does support both digital and analogue - but not at the same time.

So you can have analogue TV - and it will also recognize your FM radio (as
that is analogue), provided you have an aerial and a signal.

Or you can have digital TV - but then it won't recognize your analogue
signals, either TV or radio.

You're not the only one! I was mislead by the product description too.

I thought it has duel DVB-T tuners AND and an analogue tuner. This product
also has an FM tuner in it as well.

The only piece of this hardware that MCE2005 (rollup2 etc) recognizes for me
is the DVB-T tuner.

I don't think MCE2005 support analoge tuners so that explains that one. But
what about the FM tuner? I'm not losing any sleep over it because FM is not
that important to me.

If you want dual tuner support I think you'll have to buy another DVB-T
tuner card. The question is which one? Another Compro VideoMate T750 which
can use the same drivers or a different one? I recently posted here to ask
if it was generally better to have two the same or two different. On
respondent mentioned that it shouldn't matter but at least one ATI
All-in-Wonder type card does not like co-habitting with itself.

If you rig up a second DVB-T tuner to work with this one, please post a new
thread about it with Compro VideoMate T750 in the title so I can pick it up
and see how you are getting on. I'll probably get the same tuner as you if
it all works sweetly. I'll be doing this too at some point so I'll post as
well when I get round to it.

Dave

Hi ALL,

I recently purchased a Compro VideoMate T750 which is a Dual DVB-T &
Analog
Tuner (http://www.comprousa.com/New/en/product/t750/t750.html). I built my
HTPC system around MCE 2005 (Rollup 2). I installed everything and setup
MCE
without any real problems, can record tv and watch another no problems.
BUT
it doesn't seem that i can record 2 DVB-T channels at once, although the
product states it can and more.

Also Compro have advertised it as MCE 2005 certified (DVB-T Only) and also
has the MCE 2005 BDA Driver, So i'm unsure what the problem is exactly.
Can
someone please give me some advise of how to either enable the 2nd tuner
or
get it to record 2 channels at once.

Jason
