Re: Media Centre performance

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Your graphic card is fine. The problem is that nVidia is running behind
schedule on its Vista drivers (heck, they've only had, what, a year or
two?). They release new drivers every week more or less, so keep checking
nvidia.com for newer drivers...

On the money! I'd previously set the NVIDIA driver to 'Quality' over
'Performance'. Switching back and forth identified the problem. I also
tried
setting to 'let the application decide' and it's still fine.

What's the problem? Is my graphic card (7300GS) not up to the job - but
why
should media centre interface be so demanding? Is this an NVIDIA driver
problem?

THanks

Any other thoughts?

Mouse movements are slow and jerky and sounds stutter rapidly. THis
is before
I run anything (video or radio, for instance). However, if I run
Media Centre
in a window, the problem goes away. Any ideas?
