Re: MCE 2005 Interface flickers

Hi JW,

My problems only occur in the MCE interface. I have not noticed any other
issues with other applications.

The specs of the card on the nvidia site indicates that it does have turbo
caching.
link: http://www.nvidia.com/object/7_series_techspecs.html

The HP site also mentions that it has turbo caching and says that it can use
up to 256MB. Here is the link:

How do I know how much main memory is being shared with it?

When I am using just my PC or watching the TV directly on my computer, my
resolution is set to 1280x1024... but when I am watching TV on my regular TV
set, I have to change the resolution of my desktop to 800x600 or else I lose
too much of the picture.

I have not tried just using my monitor and not my TV set too since my
primary usage is to watch and record television shows on my living room TV
set. My older Sony VAIO computer did not give me this problem.
Unfortunately, that machine fried!

Thanks,

Mike

If your 7300 card uses Turbo Cache how much main memory is it set up to be
able to share?
Do you have any problems if the S-video connection is not in us?
Do you have any problem when not using the MCE user interface?

Hi,

I'm having a slight problem with my HP Pavilion Media Center TV m7680n
Desktop PC. The machine has 2GB of ram, 500GB hard drive, Intel Duo
Core
2, and a nVidia 7300 LE grahics card. I just bought the machine in
November.

For some reason, the MCE 2005 interface items will start to flicker,
dissapear, and reappear for no apparent reason. Entries in the
television
guide, the scheduled recordings list, and the recorder TV lists all have
this
problem.

I have a 19" Sony LCD Flat screen monitor connected through the VGA port
and
my TV connected to the TV out on my graphics card. I have the display
settings set to clone mode.

The flickering happens on both screens. Does anybody have any ideas as to
what I can do. Note: I have tried different display drivers. I also
tried
restoring the graphics drivers to the original ones that came with the
machine.

Note: The recorded TV and Live TV shows and movies are coming in perfect.
There is no stuttering in the playback. I am just having issues with the
interface flickering.

Thanks,

mike
