Can I use component in rather than VGA for MCE

I'm running a dual monitor setup. An LCD HP f10905 is my default.
The secondary which I want to use for MCE is an LCD Multi-Media
Display (LT23HVX).
I plan to buy a DVI-1 to DVI-D cable to hook up the HP. The problem
is the pc connection on my Olevia is VGA and when I play MCE
recorded TV the picture is not good. The max resolution according to
Olevia manual for VGA is 1280 x 764.
I am very hesitant to adjust the picture on the Olevia , since it
works fine for live TV, Replay TV and DVD's etc. It even looks just
fine for all windows functions other than MCE.
There is no DVI connection on the Olevia. My only choices are VGA,
S-Video and Component.
I am thinking of buying an S-Video to component-in cable to the
Olevia. Would this setup work with MCE 2005 and would it improve the
recorded picture quality?
Betty.....Didn't get my dummies book yet, so still an MCE dummy
PS: My graphics card is ATI X1950 Pro. It has 2 DVI-1 connectors and
an S-Video. It also came with
a very short doohickey that connects to the S-video and has the blue
red and green component
attached. My TV tuner card is a Hauppauge 150 MCE
.
