Re: dual monitor again

Thank you for your speedy response. By plugging away with gritted
determination i've since managed to achieve undreamed of heights. I'm a
relative newcomer to such things, especially using/operating a pc. Most of my
previous experience of the internet was through 'webtv' type set top boxes.

Apart from preferring a television's 32 inch display for certain things, my
main purpose of wanting to obtain an exact copy of what was on my pc at any
given time, was so i could record on to my external DVD and Video recorders.

Some of the famous video sites prevent you from downloading videos. However,
using the TV as the second monitor i can now attach it to my DVD or Video
direct and record away to my heart's content. Also after recording on to the
external DVD i can then play the DVD disc on my pc as well if desired and
save to the pc's hard disk.

The details of my success are a bit of a blur at the moment. However, i was
able to switch the quality of the picture to the superior one of the two. By
that i mean, initially the pc screen is very sharp and clear and the tv is
softer. That can be reversed with a single press of the button and once i
have finished recording, i just press again and the pc has the superior
screen display.

If you need to know any details in the hope there is a chance it will help
you, just post back. I will then try and retrace my steps, as i forget right
now the exact names of the various controls i used.

It's worth a try. I'm a total newbie to MCE, but following Ralf
direction worked for me. I thought I had tried to
drag the MCE window to the secondary monitor in every mode possible,
but I guess I hadn't, because when I
followed Ralf directions it worked.

I'm still not happy with the picture quality on recorded shows, but
if the PC Mag guide to MCE doesn't help, you'll
most likely see another post.

Good Luck to you. If your apphensive, you may want to make an backup
image or at least set a restore point,
before making any changes.
