I was having this same issue last night, and I did try slecting a cable box.
It doesn't seem to be willing to let you view anything but standard
channels. Is there something else to do? I could see the correct picture
during the setup process so I know it is capable. But then after setup is
complete, I could find no way to view that signal.

I would like to see and not necessarily record a
composite signal on my computer screen. The date is 2007-01-30.
in Windows Media Center .. Live Television.
I am unable to select composite signal during setup. That does not seem
sensible to me.
WMC ...I can see coaxial signal .. and I can record coaxial signal to
hard
drive .. if I pause recording .. video still appears on application
screen ..
as desired. Pausing does not stop viewing ..nice and sensible.
When you set up MCE and want to use the composite or SVideo input, you
need to tell it that you have a cable box.
