Re: Media Center to Vista Upgrade Question

Upgrades should still allow you to view protected content.

A clean install won't.

I have some copy protected tv shows and movies (dvr.ms files) on my hard
drive that were recording with media center 2005. If I upgrade to Vista,
will I still be able to watch these shows or will the protection prevent
them
from playing. Also, what about if I back these files up to a data DVD,
then
do a full Vista install, (not just an upgrade). Could I then load files
back
to hard drive and still be able to watch them with Vista Media Center
despite
copy protection.
