Sounds like one explanation could be that something (spyware?) is taking a
bunch of your CPU cycles. The All-in-Wonder boards aren't truly MCE
compatible - they don't have a hardware MPEG encoder like other compatible
tuners do, so they have to do the encoding in software. Depending on your
system, this can be a substantial load, especially when coupled with the
decoding required to display the live tv. It could be that your system was
running at its limits and something else intruded... I'd suggest the
following to start with:
Full system virus and spyware and rootkit scans.
Full hard drive defrag.
Install newest video drivers.
Reinstall your dvd decoder software.
Let us know what your exact hardware is, and how much free hard disk space
(on C and others) you have.

My media center has worked fine for years. I don't know if there was an
update; however now it is not working properly at all. The live TV is
completely jittery and when I try to record a show it shows 2 versions of
the
same show one is one minute in length the other 0 minutes in length. It
plays DVD's fine. I have an ATI all-in-wonder card. I have updated the
drivers. Live TV hosed and recorded TV hosed. Any help would me much
appreciated...
