Re: Problems with Media Center and Xbox 360

Thanks for your help, will try that tonight and let you know how I
went.

Please try directly connecting your Xbox 360 to your PC using an Ethernet
cable (a straight-through cable is fine as the Xbox will auto-sense). This
will help identify/eliminate your router as the source of the problem.

Also, if you're successfully making it past the 8-digit code screen, please
check the Application, System, and Security Event Viewer logs (right click
My Computer --> Manage) for any errors corresponding to the time that you
tried to connect and then post them here.

If you're not making it past entering the 8-digit code, please post the
contents of your DvcConn.log file from c:\windows.

Hi

I have Avast Anitvirus. I have no firewalls on apart from Windows or
the routers.

Have uninstalled Avast before but that didnt make any difference to the
connection.

Thanks for your suggestion

What anti virus software or software firewall are you running. Most
Norton,
McAfee, PCcillin or a firewall like Zone Alarm, will block access by the
Xbox 360 unless you specifically use the options within them to allow the
360.

Hi Guys,

I really need your help, this is my last resort to finding a solution.

I have tried everywhere to find a solution to my problem and am at
breaking point with my pc.

I am trying to connect my 360 and pc and they dont seem to want to talk
to each other apart from xbox live.

I have Netgear DG834G router, xbox wireless adapter and MCE 2005.

I have tried to port forward but to no avail. The xbox is attached to
my router under attached devices which I have allowed.

Can anyone help me before I throw my pc out the window? Thanks in
advance for any help.
