UPnP is required for Extender to work, so the fact that it was disabled
would definitely explain the behavior you were seeing.

I have media center 2005.

One thing I did yesterday was to enable UPnP which I had previously
disable on the advice of a friend who is a security guru. I played
around with it a liitle bit yesterday, and dind't repeat the problem,
but I didn't test it very long.

Don't know if that had anything to do with it.

to disable DHCP on the Linksys.

I need some help for my situation and can't seem to find anyone who

a similar setup. I just got an xbox 360 and already have a media
center pc. The problem I have is that because my PC and ISP
connection
come through the home office, I needed to use a second router to
connect the xbox 360 in the family room. I haven't played any

games yet, but the xbox 360 doesn't seem to have any problems

an internet connection. I can access the internet from the xbox,

the online spotlight features.

The problem I have is that the xbox randomly disconnects from the PC
when playing music or viewing pictures and other media. I get a
message to the affect that the xbox has lost the connection to the
PC
and needs to reconnect. Eventually, I am able to reconnect, but my
parents, who only have 1 router between their xbox and media center,
don't seem to have this problem.

Here is my configuration:

ISP: Verizon FIOS to
D-Link 624 wired to (media center is wired to this router as well)
Linksys WRT55AG wired to the Xbox 360.

The linksys' wireless functions are disabled as I use the D-Link to
access the internet wirelessly on my laptop.

I'm not sure if I need to forward some ports or something else that
is
getting in the way.

I'm using a Zone Alarm firewall with antivirus.

Is there anything else I need to configure.
