Any chance your receiver doesn't auto-detect whether it's receiving PCM vs.
AC3? (and/or can you manually configure your receiver so that it's expecting
PCM?)

Sorry no, I'm using a Bang & Olufsen Beovision 7-40 with build in DD &
DTS.
Everything else is working flawless.

That would be weird, but it is looking suspicious. Any chance you have a
second receiver you could try plugging your Xbox into to verify whether
this
is receiver specific? If so, I'd like to know what make/model receiver
you
have...

Hi Todd, tried with the Dolby Stereo and then no sound on the
dashboard.
My
guess now is that my expensive suround system dosn't except a Dolby
Stereo
signal through the digital input?

Try switching it to Digital Stereo and see what happens. If that
works,
what is the source of your TV content? (NTSC, ATSC, DVB-T, PAL, OCUR,
etc.)

Yes, it's set to Dolby Digital output.

Hi there,
I'm using the 360 as Extender to my MCE 2005 and been having
some
problems
with the sound.
My connection to tv/audio is through the digital output on the
360.
All systems sound are ok, but when I try music, Live TV,
Recorded
TV
I
have
no sound on the 360, but it works on the MCE PC.
The only sound I can get is when I play some WMV HD movie
clips
downloaded
from MS.
Any ideas?
MichaelDK
