NO you misundertood me you can INPUT video to your PC with either the
antenna connection on your Tuner/capture card OR via theS-Video connection
and its separate audio connection. You CANNOT send S-Video output from your
tuner/capture card you must do that with your standard graphics output card
which also connects to your PC monitor

thanks jw that explains it much better that the manuals. maybe its me
being
green and ill educated lol. joking aside yes my card has both rf
connection
and s video connection my understanding of this is the rf connection is to
receive the tv signal from my cale box? and the s video connection is to
stream videos from my pc to my home tv/ correct me if im wrong?. so my
question is can i send images ie dvd from my media centre to my tv. its
all
set up right i think but nothing is showing on my home tv. thanks jw for
taking the time to reply......

The S-video connection and its associated audio connedtio on your TV
Tuner/Video capture card are for inputing into your PC from a STB instead
of
using poorer quality RF input to the antenna connection. If you want to
export S-Video from your PC your graphics card would need to have an
S-video
output connetion.

i am new to mce, i have set it up according to all the instructions but
im
not sure what is supposed to happen through my s video cable. i can
receive
live streaming to my pc, but i presume the s video cable should stream
my
pc
to my tv.? but nothing is happening i have checked my tv is set to s
video
input all i fine there. i read on this newsgroup that i can enable my
tv
through my display, settings. but there is nothing in there apart from
my
lcd
monitor number1. number 2 is greyed out. when i try to switch it it
also
acts
as my lcd monitor. thank you for taking the time to read this and i
would
be
very greatful if you can give me any help...thanks
