Hi everyone, happy new year (i guess!)
Does anyone have (or are Microsoft working on) a patch to help us out?
Otherwise it's back to MCE 2005 for me!

Can we stick to the point here guys before we go off insulting people.

The fact is that we can no longer use the Beta installation of Vista RC1
as
there is a timebomb in the Media Center software restricting this. Vista
does not go on sale until the end of January which leaves the users
rather
'upset' to find that between now and then, we are told that 'tough, it's
beta software' when a piece of code has been specifically written to
restrict the user of the product.

Things like this is what causes the users to shy away from beta testing
and
providing feedback as when they do, they are told, politely, but told
none
the less, tough what do you expect from beta software.

Nor do I think his statements came anywhere near there.

AFAIK, Doug does not work for MS, so I don't think he is "the
Microsoft
spokesman to Vista MCE beta testers".

If Doug Knox is the Microsoft spokesman to Vista MCE beta testers,
then
the
message is loud and clear: "Beta testers, go to hell".

I have been using Vista RC1 now for a few months along with Windows
Media
Centre without any major problems.

While I am now awaiting the release Vista at the end of January
2007, I
am
now being presented with an unexpected message when I try to access
the
'live tv' option from within WMC.

The RC1 software is supposted to expire on May 1st 2007 and so I am
confused
as to why I should be getting this message. Is anyone else getting
this
message? Why do I get this message? How can I continue to use WMC
until I
can get hold of a the full Vista at the end of January?

(Yes, I intend to purchase Vista Ultimate when it becomes available)

Reading other postings about Vista, I believe it is available in the
US,
only problem is I am in the UK.
