As a workaround you can also turn back you system clock, however, your guide
data will not be correct.

I just can't believe this many people installed Betas/RC's of Vista on
their one and only machine and then complain about problems. As Doug
pointed out, these releases are intended for true testers who are going to
poke and prod the system to find problems, these are not just the average
Joe who thinks it's cool to have a new OS before everyone else.
There are numerous places where you are warned about using these on
production system or on your only computer and that you take
responsibility for the use. You are also told that, in many cases, support
is not available since these are betas.
In your case, why not just go back to XP MCE which will work fine and wait
for the release of Vista before installing?

I'm another on the list. I encouraged my family to let me set up an MCE
system to record and watch T.V. New years day came and no TV.....and
still no
T.V. My family all hate me now. They've gone next dore to watch tele.

There will be no publicly released patch for this, as far as I know.
You'll
have to wait until Vista is released. You could try a format and
re-install, as this may not be tied to a specific date, but the number
of
days that the OS has been installed. Since some of you are just seeing
this
now, I would tend to think its the number of days its been installed,
but
that's a guess on my part.

Hi All,
I'm adding my name as someone who can't access live TV or recorded
shows even though I have Gold Nvidia decoder set as default.
I'd love to upgrade to RC2 but it's not available any more...
It is possible to watch TV if you set your system time back before
31/12/2006, however this means the the guide gets messed up and wont
record programmes.
Does this mean a month without TV until we can buy Vista? <Sigh>
Microsoft, can you help us?

Hi Andy et all,
Having the exact same problem here... 31st December and Vista RC1
Media
Centre is presenting me with "this trial version has expired and can
no
longer be used".
I'm not using the default MPEG2 decoder - using the Cyberlink
alternative instead.
Help would be much appreciated. Any fixes?
Richard
