vista MCE

I am having a problem connecting MCE to XBOX360.
i believe it is because i have a domain on my home network.
my MCE2005 of course cannot be a domain member, but i would like to hook the
360 to the vista RTM i have set up. i can share music and pictures, but
cannot get the media center portion to connect. all the steps work except
the final 'connecting' phase where it times out on the PC and will keep
re-trying on the 360 until i cancel it.
i have seen this elsewhere, but no real solutions have been posted.
