Re: Two displays, different resolution.

First I'll say that is a good looking case with other nice features aside
from just the LCD. But cloning just isn't going to work at two different
resolutions. If I had the budget to buy this case I'd consider a 19'" wide
screen LCD and a case with similar cooling properties. The buget would be
about the same and you'd have a second display you could clone and use from
across a room. I really can't see a 7" monitor being practical for any
other use aside from running a system monitoring utility.

Just my 2 cents

Hi,
I'm trying to put together a htpc which has a built in lcd display Zalman
HD160XT (15x9 WS display). The maximum display on this one is 1024x768
(odd
maximum since it's not a native WS display...). Best is if you use 800x600
for the lcd according to manufacturor.

I intend to run this htpc attached to a projector (DVI input) and my
dilemma
is that I want to run the projector at higher resolution and the right
proportion as well. I don't really want to limit myself to 1024x768.

How can I do this?
- Cloning won't work, I guess since it won't be an exact clone resolution
wise?

- Dualview might be an option, but what if the projector is off when the
computer reboots - does this mean it doesn't get picked up by the computer
when it goes on? And I have to reset computer then or even go into manual
configuration? I'd like the lcd display accessible at allt times and the
projector going on and off only sometimes.

- Should I have two graphic cards? One high end for the projector and a
really cheap one for the 800x600? Will this work? Does it cause problems
if
the projector is off when the computer resets and it doesn't find the
projector on the high-end card?

Maybe I'm confused, but I can definitely do with some expert help...

Many thanks.
