Interesting. But once you rip that audio CD, you can only play it on the
360, right? In that case I still think you'd be better off ripping them on
the Media Center PC and leaving them there...that way you can create your
own CDs or copy to an MP3 player.

Yes it will rip cds but you must have a HD attached. See link below for
procedure.
Optical cable plugs into the multimedia cable on the receptacle that
attaches to the unit. You'll find an obscure and unmarked toslink hole
there.

I've been considering getting myself an XBox 360 so I can avail myself of
its games, HD-DVD playing, yet still have access to my MCE 2005 machine
for TV and media storage. Will I be able to rip CDs using the 360 and
have them stored on the MCE 2005 machine?
Oh: And which would be better: Component video or VGA from the XBox to
my HDTV? I have both (as well as HDMI, but XBox doesn't do HDMI as far
as I've been able to determine). As far as I'm able to determine, they
should be essentially identical... The only thing I haven't figured out
is whether the XBox360 does digital audio via an optical SPDIF -- Just
looking at the back of the xbox doesn't give me a clue.
Thanks in advance!
Jeff
