If you have an X2 Athlon do you have the most recent XP drivers for it from
the AMD Website?
What tuner card do you have?
What display are you using at what resolution with what interface?
Have you checked for updated Audio drivers?
What happens if you play a problem recording using Media Player instead of
MCE?

About 10% of the time, the tv show I record will start with good

varies from blue to green to red. Will change colors after 5 mn.

never comes back. Audio Ok throughout the recording. There is
