Re: Any solution to 1 minute conflicts?

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Alternatively, if you don't want to muck in the registry, there is this
program that I blogged about that should fit the bill....

If you go to the greenbutton.com they have a step by step guide to add
additional tuners to MCE beyond the 2 NTSC two ATSC it supports.

That's the frustrating thing, I already have 2 tuners, but on Thursday
night,
ABC used to schedule Greys Anatomy from 9:00 to 10:01 which ended up
blocking
either CBS - Shark or NBC - ER, both of which start at 10:00.

This week NBC moved ER to being at 10:01, so ABC countered by extending
Greys Anatomy to 10:10.

So far, next week seems OK, but that is subject to change.

Mike

PS. I don't have room in my box for a third HDTV tuner and I don't think
MCE
would support it anyway.

Another tuner would solve the problem (but I'm guessing that isn't the
answer you want to hear)

It seems that the networks are trying to cause problems to PVR and MCE
users
by extending shows past the hour by a minute. This creates a conflict
that
prevents a show on another channel from being recorded.

Is there anything we can do to tell MCE to record a show even if it
has to
skip the first minute? I can live without last weeks review or the
first
few
commercials.

It is a bit of a nuisance to have to program shows manually.
