Unfortunately those messages are unrelated to this issue, so it doesn't help
narrow things down. Please try methods 1, 2, and 5 from

No errors to post. However, under system in the event viewer, 3 messages
appear:

1) The WMI Performance Adapter service was successfully sent a start
control.
2) ditto entered the running state.
3) ditto entered the stop state.

All of those events have an identical time stamp.
