The problem is that the graphics card doesn't know what your TVs
resolutions are, since the LG TVs report them wrong (more accurately, don't
report them to the card at all). Powerstrip lets you create a monitor
profile that 'teaches' the graphics card what to do.

I dont really understand the need for powerstrip, my Intel graphics card
support all my LCD TV´s resolutions - do i still need to use Powerstrip to
create a profile ??

You have to create a custom monitor profile, then go into Device manager
and
update the driver for the display to use that monitor profile.

Thank you for your efford, unfortunately , after installing Powerstrip,

result remains the same, only one line of subtitle visible and tv
picture
with "sidebars"

I admit, though, that I have stopped buying LG and switched to
Samsung,
as
Samsung has clearly superior support using the monitor as a PC
display.
From my experience, I know of two ways to solve this. There are
probably
more. It depends on the capabilities of your PC.
If your PC is capable of doing component output (most nVidia, some
ATI),
then the absolute easiest solution is to switch from HDMI connections
to
Component connections and then choose 720p. You'll have to go through
the
MCE setup wizard, as component will overscan and you'll have to
correct
for
it.
If that is not possible, then you have to let the computer know that
your
monitor is more capable than it thinks. The LG will report to the PC
that
it is only capable of 1024x768. You need to google for Powerstrip and
download it and create a monitor profile that shows your monitor
supports
1280x720. I won't go through the step by step here, as there are many
powerstrip tutorials you'll find in google. Once you have done
that,
you
use that profile in Device Manager for your display and then when you
go
to
resolution settings, 1280x720 will be one of the choices. Again, go
back
through the MCE settings wizard to correct for the overscan (which
is
really annoying). If you have an ATI or nVidia card, it is better to
use
their control panel to correct for the overscan. My LG is attached to
an
Intel GMA 950 and I don't have that choice.
One absolute key: The TV HAS to be turned on and switched to the HDMI
input
BEFORE you boot the computer. Every time.
