Re: Xbox 360 can't connect to my MCE 2005

not to be mean get rid of Norton and get a real antivirus program. ports on
Zonelabs ZoneAlarm are opened but your crappy antivirus is pretending to be
a firewall and blocking everything... besides being a completely useless and
buggy application.

Xbox 360 - Linksys BEFSR41 wired cable/dsl router (with 4 port switch) -
MCE
2005 with Rollup 2 and Media Player 11.
Downloaded the Media Center Extender software and ran it. It says Norton
internet worm protection and my zone labs firewall are active and it can't
continue. Opened up all the ports on both of them that the troubleshooter
said I needed to open and when I ran setup again it still tells me that
Norton worm and Zone labs are problems so I disabled both. Ran set up
again
and it still doesn't connect. I also have the Extender Resource Monitor
that
shows up in the icon tray. I read that I need to enable sharing for the
extender in my PC and saw that it's now part of Media Player 11 so I go to
Media Sharing in WMP and click the box for "share my media" and I think
I'm
then supposed to get a list to be able to select "xbox 360" but I just get
the hourglass for a minute or two and nothing happens. I ran the network
and
computer tests on the xbox console and it sees my router and the xbox can
get
online but when I go to computer connection it says I'm not connected to
any
computer. Sorry for such a long post but I wanted to try to cover
everything
that I've done so far. PLEASE, can someone help? Thanks!
