Here's a guess: Microsoft sent you (and me, and probably thousands of
others) a really badly broken automatic update. My Media Center was
also working perfectly on Saturday, then on Sunday it had suddenly lost
almost all of its functionality. It still is broken. I've posted here
asking for help, but the MVPs seem to be avoiding my message like the
plague.
