You're not running MCE 2002. The 2002 refers to the core operating system version, which is essentially XP Pro. To get the Media Center version go to Settings, General, About Media Center, Software Versions.

I have a new laptop from Acer that came with MCE 2002 SP2. I have an issue
with windows not restarting after it has run for a while. This causes major
problems when installing or uninstalling software that requires a restart, as
the system freezes and must be given a hard reset. Acer has not been a great
help. I have already sent the unit in once for repair and the issue is still
unresolved. I reinstalled the operating system 2 days ago and it started to
fail within 15 hours. I find that I can not get the same story twice from
Acers customer service department and their people don not seem to be up om
the new models.
I was told on my last call not to install any of the driver and software
updates on the website as they are supposed to be for XP Pro only, Acer
apparently concidering XP MCE to not really be XP. The problem is that one
of the updates is from AMD and AMD says it is for all XP versions.
I have started to wonder if the problem is the fact that the OS is the 2002
version and not the 2005. Is there an issue with running MCE 2002 on Dual
Core platforms?
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
The notebook is a new Acer Aspire 5112, part of the 5110 line.
