Doug,
I verified that the Hauppauge card is listed under the Sound Video and Game
Controllers, and it has driver version 2.0.43.24108 installed. That's the
latest version posted on the Hauppauge web site.
I was able to install the XP drivers for my Radeon 7000. On the plus side,
my performance index for graphics went up from 1.0 to 1.9. Plus I can run
native resolution on my LCD monitor again.
However I still get the same video error message on trying Media Center.
Does that make sense? I'll try again when I get the Radeon 9600, but I hope
I'm not wasting time for an installation issue - i.e. there is some component
of Vista that needs to be installed still.

You need to ensure you have two things installed.
1) The appropriate MCE compatible tuner drivers for Vista. There are
drivers for the Hauppauge cards on Windows Update, they are listed as
Optional updates. Or you can use the drivers found here:
ftp://ftp.shspvr.com/download/wintv-pvr_150-500/inf/pvr_2.0.48.24258_vista_whql.zip
More info here:

2) Visit ATI's web site and download the latest Vista beta drivers for your
video card.
https://support.ati.com/ics/support/KBList.asp?folderID=5713
These driver are listed as compatible with Vista RTM. They may not work, or
work well with RC1.

Hi!
I have installed Vista on my old Sony Vaio PDV-RX560, dual boot (Vista on
its own hard drive). I have a WinTV PVR 150 TV card from Hauppauge, and
the
video card is a ATI Radeon 7000 series (32MB).
All is working well, except I can't watch TV. though I can from XP. Under
Vista's media center I get "VIDEO ERROR Files needed to display video are
not installed or not working correctly" error.
Two things I see that may be an issue are that the video card is using the
standard vga driver, and I can't see the tv card in the device manager,
even
after installing the latest drivers for Vista from the Hauppauge site.
Any suggestions?
