Re: HBO Unwatchable

Every time I try to do a system restore it fails. I'm pretty sure these
problems are being caused by a windows update, but I'm not sure which one.

Fairly recently... within the past 4-6 weeks. I'll try a rollback later and
post the results. Thanks.

Did this start happening recently? You might want to try rolling back to a
date prior to the last Media Center update (which would have been released
last Tuesday, Oct 24th or so).

I tried it but it didn't help. The same problem occurs on regular channels
now, it is just much more severe with HBO. If I try to scroll the guide
while
watching other channels it is very laggy, but if I try during HBO my whole
system could freeze. With the NVIDIA Decoder it shows that during the
freezes
the bitrate becomes 0, but im not sure if that means anything. Thanks.

Try re-installing it anyways. It might help (it won't hurt)

Yes I have all the windows updates installed.

HBO is one of those channels known to use the CGMA-S flag.
Have you installed the DRM fix, as it might help with your issue?

If not, try downloading and installing it from here

When I try to watch HBO my computer slows down to almost freezing. I
can't
look through the guide, the picture freezes every few seconds,
anything
I
try
to do will be delayed. I tried multiple decoders, I defragged,
updated
all
drivers, got all windows updates - no improvement. My system used to
work
perfectly on all channels, and now I'm having problems. With other
channels
there are also problems, but not nearly as severe as with HBO.
Anyone
know
how I can fix this?
