My brother accidently reinstalled xp on our home computer, as a result of
course the mydocuments folder was also re written. We had 2 accounts on
this
computer with many gig worth of data in those folders that I absolutely
must
figure out a way to recover. The software on this computer was oem stuff
and
thus we have no xp disk. Can anyone here help me figure out how I can
either
reset the computer to what it was before he re installed xp or tell me how
I
might recover the lost files. I tryed system restore, no go, no restore
points prior to this morning. I also looked in the recycle bin, nothing
there, I tryed to search for files that I knew the file names using the
file
name and tryed using wild cards, that didn't work either. I don't want to
have to go to a data recovery company unless I absolutely have to. Any
help
with returning my system to what it was before he f%$#ed it up would be
GREATLY APPRECIATED.

C:\Documents and Settings\username ... If the files aren't there, there is
little chance of recovery.
