I am trying to install Office XP professional, but whenever I enter the
product key, I get an error message that the number is incorrect. It is in
all caps on the disc (purchased from the university via licensing
agreement)
and I type it as such but with no luck. I have tried lower caps and a
combination, but nothing works. Any clues? I am trying to install this on

Sony Vaio.

Retail keys and volume keys are different. It's quite possible that the key
will not work with the particular media you have. Also it should be obvious
but student/standard/pro all use different key sets as well. If the media
doesn't match the key you will get an error like that.
