I clicked ok and then Next, it then dies saying you have a problem with
the install. If its any help, I did manually install extender by
hunting arround in the temp file that was created. It installed but it
now wont let me uninstall it as it errors with:
DvcConn.exe
Process id=0xbec (3052), Thread id = 0x3b8 (952)

If you do have Media Center 2005, then it is likely that the IDENT value

the registry for MCE2005 is incorrect, causing the error you are
encountering. To fix this... do the following.

1. Open up your registry using regedit.exe
2. Find the sub-key HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media
Center
3. Check the Ident value, it should be set to 3.0 when you install Update
Rollup 2
4. Install the Full Xbox 360 software (available
athttp://download.microsoft.com/download/2/8/5/28521E1E-120E-4D05-8310-...)

After installing Update Rollup 2, the Ident value should be updated to
4.0
