The Phishing Filter won't affect Media Center Extender functionality (so
turning it back on should not have any effect on the Media Center Extender).

This is very annoying!
Upgrade from MCE2005 to Vista RC1... XBox 360 connected via cable, Modem
Dial-up Internet connection with Internet Connection Sharing, Windows
Firewall... pretty basic setup... follow instructions from
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/pcsetup/postmce05 and things worked OK ... as
hoped
Vista RC1 solved LiveTV freezing system issue. Hooray!
Then lost XBox 360 connection... not sure exactly when, but it was
sometime
after installing Live OneCare Beta v1.5... Fiddled around for a while...
still utterly confused about "Private network" setting for public
networks,
and "Public network" setting for private networks, or have I got that
wrong?
What I really miss is the simple "Setup Home Network" Wizard from XP.
Anyway something discovered a gateway (this was the crucial step... I
should
have paid more attention to what caused this miracle), and I was able to
log
into XBoxLive, then setup Xbox360 as Extender in Media-Center interface.
Something changed my Internet Connection to a ""Private Network", and
setup
my LAN Connection as a "Public Network". I also noticed new hardware being
installed and there is a Media Center Extender Icon in my Notification
Bar,
which I don't recall seeing before. I now have Media Centre extending
brilliantly to my TV via the XBox 360.
Now Live OneCare is reporting that "One or more users have set Phishing
Filter in Internet Explorer to off...." It must have been turned off
automatically in the XBox 360 setup. I'm really scared about fiddling
around
with things again. It took two days to get the Xbox 360 back to working
order. Should I turn the Phishing Filter back on, or leave it alone??
