Do you also get jerky audio?
What is your CPU utilization when the problem starts happening.
Are you using the ATI RC1 drivers from thier Website or the latest ones from
WinUpdate on Vista(if any)?
Have you checked for a BIOS update to your MOBO?

i get jerky video after running live video for an hour. never had the
problem using mce 2005 on same hardware.

dell 3.0 p4 1GB ati elite 550 clone ati x300 128MB

trying it again used win update to update rc1

The other big thing is the drivers for your hardware. Frankly, I
haven't
had a problem with MCE in either beta2, pre-rc1, or rc1. All three using
both
x86 AND x64 versions. The only thing i hated was the ability of not being
able to shut off the video pause cache all together, Makes it a pain
guessing
when to hit pause play or commands on the tivo hooked in front of it.

Your hardware will also make a difference. I know there have been alot
of
problems with HD tv cards. Part of the reason why I went out and bought
an
ATI tv wonder elite.

My test system uses:

gigabyte Pro SLI motherboard with nvidia chipset
AMD 64 3200+
2 gigs ddr400
2 120 gig Maxtor sata drives
AtI x300 graphics card
ATI tv wonder elite

Tho before vista is released to the world come january, I will probably
upgrade the processor to a dual core, upgrade to an X1950 graphics card
and
add another 2 gigs of ram.

You are using a development version of an OS and then complaining about
the
performance and bugs?

Is your hardware completely Vista compliant (including Vista drivers)?

That's what the testing cycle is all about, if you don't want that,
stick
with MCE 2005.

I thought RC1 was supposed to me a step forward with Vista's
software....to
me, it is a step back. It runs slower on my PC. MCE has a pause every
10
seconds with Live TV which keeps getting worse and worse until it
just
freezes. RC = Real Crappy =(
