Re: error 00020002

It sounds like there might be some "bad" content in your pictures folder
that is causing the thumbnailer grief (a variation on method 3 under
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/911123/en-us). To identify the content that
is causing issues, try temporarily removing your photos from your My
Pictures directory and then moving them back in batches to isolate the
problematic file(s)

I have recently begun getting this error when trying to view "my pictures"
using media center extender, viewing on tv.

I get to the point where I am viewing folders, then when scrolling through
the folders, when I get to a point, the system freezes, the screen goes
blue,
I get a network error icon, then "error 00020002". This tells me the
system
may be doing some heavy processing, may be in standby or hibernate, or may
be
shut down. None of these is the case when this happens.

This does not always happen when the same specific folder is selected, but
it does happen in the same general area (alphabetically).

Prior to the problem, which began 9/30, I had not used the extender to
view
pictures for a couple of weeks. Other than critical updates, no other
system
changes had been made. I first had the problem after downloading pictures
from a digital camera. This just seems to happen with pictures, videos
are
ok, live tv, recorded tv all work ok. I can still view some pictures, but
have the problem somewhere near folder 50 of 74.

Everything works very well on the MC pc, even the pictures.

The only help I have found for this issue was Microsoft's article 896677,
which suggests finding the error using event viewer. When I have done
this,
it shows Windows error reporting was the program that crashed. I have
disabled error reporting but it has not helped.

Here is event log:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Media Center Remote Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 8

'Error Reporting', with file name 'C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DWWIN.EXE'.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
