Re: Do I need a Windows XP version, to install MCE?

Except you can't 'just run out and buy it'. At least I don't think so.
You used to have to buy it as an OEM product that required a hardware
purchase as well. Newegg.com has it.

Yes, outside of two limitations related to domain membership, MCE is just
like XP Pro and you can do all your normal stuff with it.

MCE 2005 is a stand alone operating system, built on XP Pro. There is no
way to just add it on. You need to purchase a copy of MCE 2005 and
perform
a clean installation.

Heyyo Dudes

I've just purchased the last parts for my MediaCenter. So here is my
question:

Do I need a version of XP (Home/Pro.) to install MCE2005? or is there a
XP
OS including in MCE2005, if it does, can it be used like a normal XP
OS?

It would be a little inoing to by a MCE2005 version, if I also should't
have
XP copy!

So far, thanks!
