Yes, you can upgrade XP Home by simply inserting the XP Pro CD, booting from
it, and following the on-screen prompts to upgrade your existing
installation. No problem. This is 100 percent supported by Microsoft.
Others in this newsgroup have said no, but that is not true. However, if you
didn't really mean, "xp home", but instead you meant "XP Media Center", then
they are correct. You would have to do a clean brand new reinstall. Boot
from the Pro CD and choose to format your existing partition. Better yet,
remove and recreate the partition. Before you do this make sure you are
prepared to replace all your existing drivers that may not be included in
the default Pro installation.

I just purchase a computer to have xp home version and have a professional
version CD which for other machine.
I would like to transfer my xp professional to my new machine.
Can you please help me how to do this?
Should I just install the xp prof on top of the home version using my xp
CD?
