Any DVB users out there, audio codec question - Live TV?

My guess is the following.
If anyone can share their knowledge I'd be most greatful.. if I'm on the
right track..
If a DVB broadcaster transmits compressed mpeg2 audio the DVD codec
installed picks it up (the audio codec/ filter component) . If they
transmit mpeg1 audio a (Microsoft built in codec) pick it up. If they
broadcast AC3 the DVD codec (its audio filter) picks it up.
In summary: 3 types of Live TV audio tracks are processed by two different
audio codecs. (My guess)
My problem: one station a certain times (when they switch to regional
studios for local news) broadcasts uncompressed PCM (linear PCM) and MCE
refuses to play this. Does anyone recognize this issue?

Who's fault is it?
MCE's SBE (Stream Buffer Engine), the "DVD codec" or the manufacturer of the
DVB tuner...
.
