Re: Save password function in MCE

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Doug,

Very interesting! Will these indeed just enable the save password
functionality, as I don't need this particular install to join a domain in
that sense... but is that all part of the same sceanario?

Thanks for your quick assisatance.

This is a side effect of Media Center not being allowed to join a domain.
In a domain enviroment, Fast User Switching is disabled. FUS is required
for Media Center Extenders (including the XBox 360) to work correctly. If
you don't use a Media Center Extender, you can work around this by
implementing the "hack" found here:

I am having an issue since splashing out and changing XP Pro to media
centre...

What used to be with XP Pro even with SP2, is the ability to save
credentials being passwords on all pop up 'Windows Login' boxes for things
like Windows Authentication on sites, or machines part of the same work
ground etc. Before the usual save password check box was present..

However, now on MCE this doesn't seem to be present on any windows
authentication boxes that appear which i am finding so very irritating.

Tried researching to see it was a case of the local security policy or
indeed registry settings.. but thing hasn't been as it should.

ANy ideas and help realy appreciated.
