I installed a Conner Technologies 10GB hard Drive as a slave drive
in my new Compaq Presario computer, set the jumpers to slave but
it doesn't show up in My Computer. The Bios sees it and Device
manager sees it and says it's working properly, (I've uninstalled
and reinstalled it) but I can't get it to display so I can't
access it. It worked fine in my old computer. Since the Bios
sees it, I'm guessing that Windows is the culprit. Anyone
encounter this problem before or have any suggestions.

If it were my system, I would try putting the 10GB drive into a USB-2
or FireWire external case and see if that helps.

In that case (accidental pun), I'd jumper the drive as either CS or
Master.

You can often find such cases for under $30. There are also adapter
cables, which are the the same electronics as a case without the case,
and they are even cheaper.

Even if you get for just the one experiment, you'll probably find other
uses for it later.

Oh - make sure you get an IDE case or adapter for this drive, not a
SATA one.
