Yes - the resolution and aspect ratio the Xbox runs at is completely
independent of the PC.

I am thinking about buying a Xbox 360 as a Media Center Extender because I
want to run my projector on a native 16:9 aspect ration but need to keep
my
Media Center PC at 4:3 because of my TV. Can the Xbox run at a different
aspect ratio?

Many thanks,
Karsten
