Re: Need Help please

Nothing that jumps out at me. I use the Happuage 150 cards and they show up specifically as Happauge WinTV PVR PCI II (26xxx).

I n my post a few back I listed everything under the sound, video and game
controllers. Would it be one of those items? Thanks

It won't necessarily be labeled "tuner". It should be one of the devices listed under Sound, Video and Game controllers. Did it come preinstalled in the machine? Is it a USB model?

Hey Doug thanks for your replies. How do I find out which tuner I have? I
guess it would also be under device manger. I looked I really don't see
anything labeled tuner

"Doug Knox MS-MVP" wrote:

This is an onboard video adapter. You would need to check Toshiba's and Intel's web sites for updated drivers. There's still no indication of what tuner you have installed.

under display adapter it lists: Intel 82915G/gv/910GL Express Chipset Family.

Is that good?

The video card is listed under Display Adapters. From your other post, it would look like you have an ATI tuner or an ATI video card, but it doesn't say which one. Belarc Advisor is very good about identifying what hardware is installed on your system.

I really don't know much about this stuff but I managed to get my media
center up and running. I just got my Dell computer today and hooked it up
with my cable box going into the computer via s-video and my dell 20" goes
directly into the computer. I have no problem viewing tv and everything else
in the media center but the picture quality(on my Dell 20" monitor) is really
bad. I went through all the adjustments during the setup but maybe something
should be tweaked. From what I read I see the video card makes a difference.
Is that true and how do I find out which one I have? I was in device manger
but saw a lot of stuff and did not know which one was the video card.

Also can I watch tv on my dell while I am on the internet?

THANKS VERY MUCH FOR ANY HELP
