Re: connecting to xbox 360

To access/view the network settings on your Xbox 360, do the following:
1. From the Xbox Dashboard, move to the System section.
2. Select Network Settings.
3. Select Edit Settings. You can view the network settings on the Edit
Settings screen in the Xbox Dashboard

Please post the contents of your DvcConn.log file from c:\windows. Also,
please post the IP addresses of your PC and Xbox as well as details
regarding how your network is configured (wired/wireless, how your PC and
Xbox physically connect to the network, makes/models of

i set my xbox 360 up last night with mce 2005. Make sure you
install
the full file (80mb) from www.xbox.com/pcsetup and enter in ur code
from the 360. No need to change firewall settings it will do it
automatically. My only problem was that i downloaded the wrong
file.
Make sure u setup medioa center on the network before trying to
connect
it to the 360. Hope this helps.

This is not your issue. The core OS is Windows XP 2002, the MCE
version is different, as you've noticed and you have the correct
one.

You say you followed all the directions. Did you go to
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/pcsetup and download the file from
there?
Also, what are your firewall settings on the MCE PC? Are the
exceptions required for Media Center Extender and the XBox 360
functionality enabled?

I recently purchaced a xbox 360 and have been trying connect it
to
my
windows xp media center edition. I have taken all steps that
are
described in
the set-up. but it still is not working. (cant detect xbox 360)
The
windows
media connect is however working. Im just not able to get media
center to
workon the 360. The only thing I can think of is when I go to
My
computer
properties under the general tab it displays version 2002. but
when i
go to
1. Start Media Center. 2. On the Settings menu, click General.
3.
Scroll
down, and then click About Media Center. it displays windows xp
media
center
edition 2005 update rollup 2. I know you have to have 2005 for
it
to
work
with 360. how can i do this?
