Since things seem broken after adding McAfee, try removing it to see if it
is the cause.

For some reason, even when I have my PC set for the monitor to turn off,
to
go into hibernation, for the hard drive to shut off, etc, nothing is
happening. This used to work, but at some point it just decided not to
function any more. Everything else seems to be working fine, but the PC
just
stays on in normal mode, forever. I installed McAfee a while ago, but
there
did not seem to be a change in behavior, at that time, and the problem
most
likely occurred afterwards, although I do not remember any changes that
would
have affected this. Can you give me any advice? The auto update tool
seems
to think that my OS has been fully updated. Thanks!
