I am hoping someone may be able to help. I installed sonicencoders.msi into
MCE 2005 some time back and it worked well for me. However a few days ago I
went to burn a DVD again (having not used it for a few months), and now I get
an 'Unsupported file type' message when I select any of the DVR-ms files I
have stored. I have tried removing and reinstalling sonicencoders, and have
checked the locations in control panel and MCE match. I only get this
problem if I select 'Video DVD'. Any suggestions?
For what its worth I also have this problem (although I only recently got a
blank DVD-RW disk to try it). I am beginning to wonder if a Microsoft update
(for MCE) has broken something.
Whaqt is your location? Where in MCE specifically have you checked the
location? What type of TV tuner are you using? What MPEG2 codec are you
using?
For your benefit my setup is
UK, DVB-T and Cyberlink PowerDVD 6
The conspiracy theorists might say it is a way of forcing us to buy either
Cyberlink Make DVD or Sonic PrimeTime instead of using the 'free'
SonicEncoders.
PS. Which (if any) of SonicEncoders, Sonic PrimeTime, and Cyberlink Make DVD
supports dual layer DVD burning?
