It should if "disable" equates to "don't run", but the log you posted
indicates that it was still running.

I do understand what you are saying but when I disable the privacy software
shouldn't this stop the problem?

Here's what's happening: some period of time after you log in, your
privacy
software is popping up a window on top of Media Center, stealing focus
from
Media Center. Your session is being disconnected because Media Center no
longer has focus, meaning input from the remote control won't do anything
(input would instead be redirected to the privacy software).
It's been awhile since I've seen the privacy package you have, but I
think
the window it's popping up is asking for the password you use to unlock
access to the Internet. Unless you can configure the privacy software to
not prompt you in this fashion, you will always be disconnected soon
after
connecting.

If let the extender sit 15 min on start page and then try = same thing
happens
When it happens the extender display freezes = no error message, shows
it
is
getting ready to find the information it just never gets it = little
circle
that normally moves is frozen still if it shows up. Most of the time I
have
to turn off the unit from the back to shut it down vs turning off the
power
on the front of the unit.
PC is always responsive and even media center on the PC always works
Error message says: The %1 permission settings do not gr%ant %2%3
permission
for the COM server application w/ CLSID %4 to the user %5\%6 SID (%7).
This
security permission can be modified using the Component Services
administrative tool. I followed the link and directions to fix this
and
completed it.
It still happens although that error message is cleared (no longer
occurs)
Looking in the application section of the computer management section I
find
another error that occurs now and has occured in the past when the
problem
happens. It says "Unauthorized window was detect while running the
Media
Center Experience, 'McAfee Privacy Service', with file name 'C:\Program
Files\McAfee.com\Shared\mghtml.exe'. " The link to help has no
solution
so I
am depending on you. I did install the privacy service around the time
this
problem really got bad. I disabled it and the same problem occured. I
have
not removed it and would rather not if there is another option.
Thanks for your help

Few questions:
- If you connect to your Extender to your PC and just let it sit on
the
Start page for 15 minutes, do you see this issue?
- What do you see on the Extender when this happens? (does it display
an
error? does it show the Media Center UI, but no let you interact with
it?)
- Is your PC still responsive after you encounter this?
- What is the text that goes along with the DCOM message you saw in
Event
Viewer?

Over the past several months, everytime I try to access content from
my
extender be it pictures, music or TV when it tries to connect to the
host
computer the extender freezes up. I can consistently connect w/ the
host
computer and see the welcome screen. I can even see the content I
want
to
select. I can also access and navigate the TV guide. It 1st
errored
w/
pics, then music, then TV. I have even bought a new extender and
right
out
of the box the new one had the same problem. For the new extender,
the
error
codes from "computer management" are;
Source DCOM
Category none
Event 10016
User MCX3
Thanks for any and all help
