It is not a function of the tuner it is a function of your MCE software and
your disk confituration. You might make sure that your Disk caching is
enabled for your drive or controller( I forget where the check box for this
is) and that you are using DMA access.
Assuming no prolems there( since the dafaults are the correct settings) what
you and others consider long delay vs resonalble response may be the same
time value you could only tell for sure using a stop watch.

that it is a function of the tuner's response time, not the *system*.

Jaime, your post is on point. I don't have a set top box, I hava an
analog
cable, connected DIRECTLY to the tv tuner in my pc. The fact that you
don't
get any type of delay really gives me some hope now! My cable signal
is
split between my main TV (different room) and my TV Tuner. If i take
the
cable and connect it directly to the tv tuner (ie. no splitte), it
makes
no
difference. What could the problem be???

Oh, what kind of TV Tuner do you have? Mine is an Emuzed Angel PCI.
Could
it be a problem w/ this tuner?

The channel change at pretty much the same speed as when I am just
watching
the cable directly. I think some of the delay is MCE getting the
signal
from
the remote, translating, and resending to the STB.

process up? I mean if one is changing channels constantly, isn't

sort of "cached" info like that of IE for example. Not trying to be
difficult, but I want to make this as seamless as possible. If it
