OK, it sounds like you have installed the vendors software to manage
the USB wireless on the PC and are using that instead of the native
Windows XP wireless config and management (wireless zero
configuration). I suspect that if you disable to vendors software
and use Windows to manage the connection, that window that pops up
will not appear. However, without the vendors software, you may not
be able to use the proprietary super G mode.
try disabling the vendors software and enabling windows native
wireless management.

My 360 is connected to the router using a wire. It is the PC that is--

as you suggest on the PC, but why do I need to buy one of those adapters when
it obviously should work using a supger g USB adapter.

Hi,--
I discovered a strange problem when trying to get my XBox 360 work as a
media extender. For a long time I am having problems with "session
terminated" messages when I have been trying to hook up my xbox as an
extender to my Media Center PC.
When I have looked in the event log I have got these to errors:
"Faulting application mcmgr.exe version 6.1.2715.2783 faulting module
unknown, version 0.0.0.0 fault adress 0x0000000c"
Unauthorized window was detect while running the Media Center Experience
"MCRMgr". with the file name 'C:\\Winodws\system32\dwwin.exe
Yesterday I was able to locate the source of the problem. My PC is connected
to a Netgear WPN824 router using a 3Com OfficeConnect 108 Mbps USB adapter.
When I enable "SuperG"-mode on the USB-adapter my Xbox disconnects after a
couple of minutes of use, showing the "Session terminated" message. If I,
however, disable SuperG everything runs ok (even though it is a bit slow).
For me it seems very strange why I shouldn't be able to run in SuperG-mode.
Anyone who has any ideas why this is not working?
I have tested using different USB adapters and routers (both D-link and 3Com
routers and USB adapters) and I get the same result no matter what hardware I
use, so it doesn't seem to be a hardware problem.
My Xbox is connected to the router using a wire by the way.
